I need to adjust varwidth which encloses node's text such that it doesn't exceed page margin. It would have been easy if not for the changing hspace value preceding each node (so nodes have to adjust depending on hspace value, automatically).

Is there some command (or two) that returns width of a node? I would need this information to use on hspace value together with linewidth to get the number I need.

  • Could you please provide an explicit example that starts with documentclass, ends with end{document} and explains what you are after. (Yes, it is easy to determine the size of a given node.)
